Keady Phelan: Bio

Keady Phelan is a songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, flutist, and one hell of a tamborine shaker. She was born and raised in Marin County, California and has lived in San Francisco since the age of eighteen.

Keady got her musical start at an early age by playing flute in the school band (She was "first chair", so don't mess with her.) as well as playing guitar and singing in her living room and other small venues with her parents "family band." Her college years were spent playing soccer for San Francisco State and traveling Europe modeling (it was a lot harder than one would think). She re-embraced her musical side when she joined the Adrianne Serna Band in June of 2003. Keady added beautiful vocals to the ASB sound and also contributed her flute and percussion skills until she departed the ASB in 2005 to strike out on her own.

Keady started writing her own songs and released her solo debut album in 2006; a combination of her original songs and new renditions of some older tunes from music legends Link Wray and Tim Buckley. With this album Keady provides a small window into her life through "Mr. Love" and "Wasted Years" and pays tribute to her friend John Hanes with "Hello Angel." This eclectic album provides a glimpse into the vocal range of this new talent.

Keady's music is available on CD Baby, and several other internet music sites including iTunes and Rhapsody.
